Tofu Skewers
Delicious sweet and smoky tofu skewers which can be quickly made on a grill pan. Enjoy a vegan bbq throughout the year
Tofu skewers are the perfect bbq dish for vegans. Making tofu skewers might seem difficult because tofu doesn't really have any taste. But we came up with the perfect sauce which is sweet, salty and smoky that makes the tofu skewers taste absolutely delicious. They are very easy to make and thanks to the marinating process, the tofu will have perfect consistency, similar to any other bbq.
Tofu is full of protein, and alongside baked potatoes or delicious wholegrain rice, your vegan bbq will be a huge success. We love making vegan bbq as we already made vegan sausages, vegan steaks and vegan chicken. Try them with the tofu skewers, and your vegan friends will love you for it.
What are tofu skewers
Tofu skewers are the most delicious bbq idea ever. They are meant to replace meat, hence being vegan and vegetarian friendly. They are also healthy, affordable and super filling.
Tofu is great because it's a little bit like a blank canvas. It doesn't have any taste on its own, but it can really be soaked, marinated and seasoned to become anything you love eating. In our case, we wanted to imitate the taste of meat but without compromising on the health.
So we came up with a sweet, salty and smoky sauce which basically imitated the taste of the seasoned grill. So tofu skewers allow you to enjoy an array of tastes without ever getting bored with the dish. It's essentially the most versatile bbq dish ever.
To make it even more awesome, we added red pepper and red onion to the skewers so you can really enjoy great tastes in one bite.
How to make the tofu taste good
Tofu can be plain but it doesn't have to have. You can smoke it, grill it, season it and marinade it. Tofu can become the tastiest dish ever. The issue is, more people don't know how to transform tofu from boring to excellent.
We are here to change that. Use our special Thai sauce and marinade the tofu in it for around 20 minutes. Because of the soy sauce, the tofu will become tender and thanks to the rest of the seasoning in the marinade, it will have the most delicious taste ever: think Asian flavours with a smoky flavour.
Combined with tasty vegetables then sizzled on the grill, the tofu will have an intense and delicious taste: slightly salty, sweet, a bit sticky, spicy and of course, smoky. It's everything you like in steak but without the need to eat animal products.
