Passionfruit Margarita
Our super potent margarita to get every party started. You are going to love the taste of it!
If you have a passion for margaritas then you are going to love my passionfruit margarita too. See what I did there? Our passionfruit margarita seems fairly innocent at first glance with its delicate pink hues. You can even be forgiven for mistaking it for a light grapefruit juice.
But in reality, our passionfruit margarita is potent, thanks to a perfect mix of three different alcohols: tequila, triple sec and passionfruit liqueur.
Margaritas scared me for a very long time. I always thought they are so difficult to make. But once you nail the first recipe, you will become addicted and you will certainly want to experiment more. For example, I started with a simple classic margarita recipe, then tried a delicious spicy margarita. I was hooked.
What's a passionfruit margarita
A passionfruit margarita is an easy to make (super potent) cocktail which contains tequila, triple sec and Passoã. To make it a little more exciting, I decided to add smoky salt around the rim of the glass. So this cocktail is super special and here's why. You will first smell the smoky salt, then taste the salt, take a sip of the sour tangy cocktail with a sweet mid-taste, followed by a proper bitter aftertaste.
It's got everything you would want from a drink and more. It's simply fantastic. Try it and let me know what you think.
Oh and by the way, I just love Passoã. This article is in no way sponsored by the brand. I love the taste of it the most and really love how well it combines with the silver tequila and the triple sec.
How to make passionfruit margarita
Are you ready to make the best ever passionfruit margarita? It's super simple. First, you will need a great cocktail glass. I like to use a deep and curved whisky glass but feel free to use an actual margarita glass if you prefer.
For booze, you will need silver tequila, your favourite brand of triple sec and passionfruit liqueur. Then, you will need tonic water, lime juice, lime, ice if using (I like to chill my glass and my tonic, never add ice), and smoky salt.
To rim the glass with salt:
Place the smokey salt on a flat plate. Cut a lime wedge. Hold the glass and run the lime's pulp along the outside of the rim until it is covered with juice.
Hold the glass upside down and dip the wet rim into the smoky spicy salt. Press gently and twist it around until your glass rim is evenly coated.
To make the passionfruit margarita:
You can use a cocktail shaker or add all ingredients directly into your glass. Add silver tequila, the triple sec and the passionfruit liqueur.
Add the lime juice and top up with tonic water.
Add a lime slice as decoration and served immediately.
