Quick and easy Vegan Avocado Chocolate Mousse
A delicious and easy to make vegan avocado chocolate mousse which you can use on its own or add it to your favourite desserts.
I recently decided to make vegan muffins and my husband told me wanted to dip them in chocolate. I immediately thought of avocado chocolate mousse, a quick and easy solution for anyone looking to add chocolate to any vegan dessert recipe.
I first discovered how to make avocado chocolate mousse as a complete coincidence. We were having some friends over for dinner and one of them said they have a bit of a sweet tooth. I made a joke and I said I can give them an avocado with cocoa on top. But then, the idea didn't seem that bad at all. So we scooped the flesh of an avocado and mashed it in a bowl, then added a bit of cocoa powder to it. It didn't taste bad, but it clearly needed some syrup to sweeten the bitter taste of cocoa. Because it was quite mushy, we started adding a bit of milk to it, and voila! A raw version of the first-ever avocado chocolate mousse I created.
The moral of the story is that it's always a good idea to simply experiment with your ingredients. I mean who would have thought avocado and cocoa have the power to create one of the best mousses in the world? The best part? It only takes 2 minutes to make and it's all raw. No cooking or baking required.
How To Use Avocado Chocolate Mousse?
You can add the avocado chocolate mousse to cupcakes and muffins like we did this weekend. Sometimes, when we fancy something sweet, we put some in bowls and add fruits and oats on top. This makes a great breakfast. Don't forget to add more agave syrup if you need an extra sugary kick. We also love it on top of frozen bananas for when we fancy a more refreshing dessert. In the winter, this is glorious and act as a great chocolate sauce for when you indulge in a hot chocolate with marshmallows or soy cream. Honestly, the sky is the limit!
Equipment: food processor, spatula.
